Scope: Cable haul of 6x 1.2km transmission feeders for connection to new Leppington ZS through existing conduits, and assistance for Endeavour Energy jointing crews.

Total Length: 6x 1.2km Cable Hauls

Key Challenges: Cable haul through existing conduits requiring hazard identification of mislaid existing conduits. Early identification of cable pulling pinch points such as tight radius bends, unplanned kinks in alignment, and conduits with backfill material seepage. Successful identification and rectification of issues, leading to a safe, efficient cable haul. Complexity added by oversized 500m cable drums, 4.2m high and 22 tons, requiring bespoke float and lifting plans for smoothness of onsite operations.

Result: Road and Rail delivered cable hauls following the identification of differences between design and construction of conduit runs, presenting cascading issues that were managed and overcome, whilst providing a completed cable haul for EE jointing crews to attend site in accordance with their required timeframes.
