Scope:
The scope of this project included the installation of approximately 40 meters of dual main, consisting of an OD 660mm SCL pipe and an OD 559mm SCL pipe, along with 10 meters of OD 168mm scour line. The installation involved numerous vertical and horizontal bends, with some sections reaching a depth of 3.5 meters. Road and Rail Excavations faced challenging site conditions, including extremely hard rock and major services crossing the alignment.
Total Length: 40 meters
Key Challenges:
Challenges included working within tight corridors, managing a constantly evolving site with multiple traffic switches, excavating up to 3.5 meters in depth, navigating around multiple existing services, dealing with hard rock, and coordinating the lifting and placement of heavy SCL mains.
Result:
Road and Rail Excavations successfully delivered the full scope of work within the required time frame and budget, without compromising quality or safety. By implementing innovative solutions, we overcame significant challenges such as extremely hard rock and crossing utilities, ensuring the overall project completion date was met.
